Quick Dishwasher Tips

If your dishes aren’t getting clean check the spray arms. There are two or three spray arms and sometimes the holes inside each arm get filled with debris. You should also check the water temperature. The recommended water temperature for optimal dishwasher cleaning is 120 degree Fahrenheit.

Sometimes dishes and glasses come out of the dishwasher with a filmy residue. This happens when there is build-up of calcium on the inside of the dishwasher. Purchase dishwasher cleaner and run a full cycle and this should fix the problem.

If your dishwasher isn’t draining properly and your model uses a belt, check this first. The belt drives the pump. Replacing a broken belt is a quick and easy fix.

Sometimes the motor gets stuck. Before trying to diagnose any further motor issues, manually spin the motor. If the motor’s path was clogged, manually spinning the motor should free it up and correct the problem.
